As Japanese engineering expertise in anti-seismic structure, seismic damper and seismic isolation is one of the best, if not the best in the world, Japan has the ability of providing the buildings with sophisticated technology at the highest quality level to the world. Moreover, the exquisite design and detail derived from Japanese nature caring about users and way of using cannot be imitated just by economic growth, and are expected to remain as the value only Japan can provide for a long run.

Facing the slowly declining economy, Japan should export its highly sophisticated engineering expertise and should be active in the transfer of technology. It is considered to be a “sin” to just wait for slow decline. In Japanese word, it is “Mottai-nai”.

Speaking of Japan, TOYOTA in automobile industry, HONDA in motorcycle, SONY and TOSHIBA in electrical appliance etc. are well-known around the world. But their production control system had widely penetrated into the domain of construction and design, and it is not too much to say that construction is the specialty of Japan. It is the Japanese inherent work gradually developed over 2,000 years in severe natural environment.
